How Netflix and Spotify's Streaming Prices Will Change in 2026
Everyone is wondering what 2026 will bring as America prepares to ring in the New Year. Even though there are many unknowns in life, there are some things you can count on, like death, taxes, and rising streaming subscription costs.
However, which streaming providers are increasing their costs, and how much? The largest streaming services in the world are mentioned by Newsweek along with any price changes they may make in 2026.
Netflix
As of reporting, Netflix has not disclosed a change in streaming costs for 2026.
Following protracted talks and a fierce bidding war against Comcast and Paramount Skydance, the streaming behemoth just announced that it will purchase Warner Bros. Discovery's film and streaming operations in a $83 billion acquisition.
Netflix wrote its members after learning of the acquisition, stating that nothing is changing at the moment but leaving open the possibility of future pricing adjustments.
Regulatory and shareholder approval are still pending.
Spotify
According to a Financial Times story, Spotify may increase the cost of its subscriptions in early 2026. Although the precise amount of the price rise is unknown at this time, it has been predicted to be about $1. Spotify has not publicly acknowledged that it will increase its fees or verified the allegation.
Paramount+
Prices are increasing on Paramount+.
As part of its earnings report, Paramount announced that it will raise prices for U.S. subscribers on January 15, 2026. This will bring the ad-supported Essential plan from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. The ad-free Premium plan will go from $12.99 to $13.99 per month.
HBO Max
HBO Max announced in October that it would raise its prices, effective immediately. Prices raised by $1 per month, or by $10 annually, taking the prices up to $10.99 and $109.99.
Amazon Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video has not confirmed a price increase for 2026 as of reporting. There have been multiple speculative reports, citing analysts who project an increase of around $20, but these have not been confirmed.
Disney+
Disney+ announced a price rise for its streaming subscription packages, which began in October of this year. These price increases saw the Disney+ ad-supported plan increase by $2, bringing the monthly cost to $11.99. The premium no-ads plan, meanwhile, rose by $3 to $18.99 monthly.
Peacock
Peacock raised its prices in July of this year, with both the Premium and Premium Plus plans increasing by $3 a month. The monthly subscription with ads now costs $10.99, and the Premium Plus tier, with limited ads, costs $16.99.
Apple TV +
