Look, I’m not saying Jupiter Ascending is a good movie. I’m saying it’s a GREAT movie! The 2015 space opera is, yes, a little out there and often unintentionally hilarious, but what more can you expect from a movie by the Wachowski siblings starring Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, and an eyeliner-sporting Eddie Redmayne in one of the most over-the-top performances ever committed to film? Watch it to see him whisper-scream like a truly villainous maniac! I don’t remember much about the plot, except for this part: Halfway through, Mila Kunis’s Jupiter tells someone, “Call me Jupe.” Everyone before that point has been calling her Jupiter, and everyone after that point continues to call her Jupiter; this whole “Jupe” business is never brought up again. Amazing.
