Early Life and Career
Welling was born in Putnam Valley, New York, on April 26, 1977. He began his acting career in the early 2000s, appearing in guest roles on television shows such as Undeclared and Judging Amy. In 2001, he was cast as Clark Kent in Smallville, a television series about the early years of Superman. Welling starred in Smallville for ten seasons, and the show became a popular hit with audiences.
In addition to his work on Smallville, Welling has also appeared in several films. He made his film debut in Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), a comedy about a family with twelve children.
