George Costigan: A British Actor with a Long and Varied Career

George Costigan: A British Actor with a Long and Varied Career George Costigan is a British actor who has been working in the industry for over 40 years. He is best known for his roles in the films Rita, Sue and Bob Too (1987), Calendar Girls (2003), and Shirley Valentine (1989). He has also appeared in numerous television series, including Happy Valley (2014-2019), So Haunt Me (2014-2017), and The Long Firm (1999). Costigan was born in Portsmouth, England in 1947. He began his acting career in the early 1970s, appearing in a number of stage productions. He made his television debut in 1978, and his film debut in 1987. Costigan has won numerous awards for his work, including a BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance in Rita, Sue and Bob Too.
