Banshee: A Gritty, Action-Packed Crime Drama Banshee is an American action television series created by Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler. The series ran for four seasons on Cinemax from January 11, 2013, to May 20, 2016. Set in the small town of Banshee, Pennsylvania, the series follows Lucas Hood (Antony Starr), an enigmatic ex-con who assumes the identity of the town's murdered sheriff in order to hide from a powerful crime lord. Hood quickly finds himself caught up in the town's criminal underworld, and must use all of his skills and cunning to keep his true identity a secret. Banshee is a gritty, action-packed crime drama that blends elements of noir, martial arts, and superhero fiction. The series has been praised for its strong characters, complex storylines, and stunning visuals.
